Hey guys...I'm building a house right now and I'm putting a home theater in the bonus above the garage.
First, a bit about the room. Below is a picture of the room looking down into it and my plan for furniture placement. About 5 feet up the wall, the wall angles inward toward the room at about a 50 to 60 degree angle. Pretty typical of a bonus room.
Now...the area in the picture is not the ENTIRE area. Behind the area in the picture is more room but I have a pool table going there. That area has a straight regular wall on the left side and more angled wall on the right (when looking down at the room as in the picture).
The sound system is going to be a 7.1 system with front towers, a center channel, and a sub. There will be side wall mount speakers firing directly at the center chair. And finally, I will have some rear speakers hanging from the ceiling firing down at the center listening position. Eventually I will move to a projector but right now, it's a 73" DLP HDTV.
So...any ideas for treatment? I'm thinking about doing bass trapping in the front of the room all the way up to the ceiling, following the angle of the walls. I am then thinking about putting treatment at the reflection points. I am also CONSIDERING straddling the wall with some treatment where the wall starts to angle but I'm not sure what good that would do. Finally, I'm also CONSIDERING putting a cloud over the main listening position but might not do that just yet because I'm not sure how low my projector will hang.
Thoughts?

Here's the entire room per the plan. Figured I'd go ahead and post it.

What you are doing is different from the typical audio room, even if others may try to suggest otherwise.
They have experts there that can alert you to issues you may not have considered existed...
