Studio design newbie asks where to start

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Studio design newbie asks where to start

Post by Kid Squid »

Hello Chaps,

Just joined the forum on a tip from a friend. Basically, i've just bought some land to build a new house, and i was wondering about the basics of studio design. eg. room sizes, room shapes, ceiling height, layout etc. to start thinking about, before any plans are made.
I'm not a newbie with regards to studios, but i am a newbie when it comes to designing them :)

Best Regards,

Steve

Welcome, this is a great place to start.

As you search the forum, make sure you visit the Recording handbook site.
