Hi to All
our Band has now a new Bandroom that ist quit big. It is 14m length x 7m width x 3m Height. We want to build a good sounding Room for our Band. To play and practice in it and to be able to do good Demorecordings. There is a Drumset, Bass with Amp, Acoustic Guitar with Amp, Our Singer who has as Monitors two Mackie SRM450 (not tuned on loud..., wich are also our PA Speakers for Weedings, Birthdaysconcerts and so on..). Our Stile is Pop/Jazz and we play at moderate Volumes.
One half of the room will be a storage place for the teachers in this School. So our useable Room will be 8m length x 7m width x 3m height. So we thaugt to hang up a thick curtain for separating the room.
The walls are on all sides concrete, the floor is carpet and on the ceiling there are Eggboxes (this room was used to be a musicroom for the school). There are no windows at any side, just one door at the middle of the width side, it will be there where the storage is.
We can drill into wall and ceiling.
Now we planned to do the Acoustictreatment as describded on Ethan Homepage. But we are not quite shure how many Traps we have to build, where to put and how big they have to be. We can get rigid fiberglass at 100kg/m3 at a local store, from 30mm to 140mm thickness as plates of 0.65m x 1.20m.
For the recordings we are not planning to do a separate room because of money, maybe we are doing this in the future.
So our main Question is how many traps do we have to build and where do we have to put it? What are you thinking about our ideas?
Our Budget will be 750US.
Thanks for your anwsers. Sorry for my english.
Cheers
