I have the same question...Do i put the paper side of my batt insulation toward the inside of the room and staple it to the 2x4 or should the paper go to the airspace side toward the outer wall??? i am intsalling it now and need to know asap... yeah i know...last minute,etc...THANKS in advance!!!

Inside the wall, as long as this is NOT an outside wall (with weather on one side) it makes NO DIFFERENCE whatever which way the paper goes. Basically whatever works for you is fine. If you install more than one batt of insulation between sides of an inside wall, get unfaced insulation for all but one layer.
For an outside wall, the paper facing goes toward the living space (unless you're living in the deep south and have your AC on more than a heater, then it's recommended that the facing go toward the warm side (which in this case would be the outside)
