I mean startting from the massive wood board to the handles and hinges?

It might be less expensive. When you own the tools. My dad has a good collection of furniture tools I could work with.

I've not seen DIY solidcore doors here on the forum lately.
Have a look at http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5842 and browse through the goods. I believe Wiseman did some DIY doors in his Dragonnote studio...
