Tremco Fyre-Sil caulk

Hello all,
Tremco Acoustical sealant is about the only option I can find locally (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) for a reasonable price ( $3 per 300ml tube, $5.75 per 850ml tube). But many have reported this stuff to be incredibly awful to work with so I've been trying to see if there's another option. The guy at my local building supply suggested Tremco Fyre-Sil caulk. It's more expensive but apparently much nicer to work with. The question of course is how it will perform as an acoustical sealant?
The following info is from the product's spec .pdf (downloadable from Tremco's website) - thoughts?;

to test it out). I just applied it last night and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It certainly is gooey and if you're not careful you will quickly get it everywhere. I used to be a painter though, so I'm quite comfortable with a caulking gun. I'm VERY happy that I found it not too bad because any other option, including Tremco's fyre-sil, was at least three times the cost. And I estimate that I'll require at least 80 850ml tubes for my project!
