Hi all
I'm in the final stages of putting my new room together....
At the front of the room I've got superchunk bass traps running from floor to ceiling in both corners.
I've got loads of vinyl which needs to be stored in the room, and I was planning on building shelves for the vinyl which would sit in front of the bass traps. The shelves would cover around half of the bass traps width-wise, and around 40% vertically. In other words - the far side/half of them would still be exposed and so would the top half/60%. Hope that makes sense!!!
What I wondered was whether this is likely to make them less effective in any way?
Cheers for any help and for all the help with my other posts of the last few months.
Max

maybe make some acoustic measurements before and then after to determine the actual impact?

Yeah - I guess that would be the sensible and most accurate way of finding out.
But I have not made the units yet, nor bought the materials even. So I'm hoping for a bit of advice before I go out and make them (potentially) necessarily.
Cheers for the input.

ah... i thought i read you "have" super chunks but really you meant "will have"... it might be that you simply put the rigid insulation top and bottom and put the lighter insulation in behind the shelves.
