i have some 8lb and some regular 705. i listened to bothofthem and the 8lb seems to be very close if not the same, is there3 something i am missing or not able to hear.

to test i simple put music on and sealed one ear while scaning across the different surfaces, and it was pretty much the same

and if this stuff has novalue for killing first reflections would it be good to use for cieling bass traps with a 6" gap

Yeah, there's not much difference between 6 and 8.
