Hello at all!
I´m new to this FANTASTIC (thanks to all for providing help to NOOBS like me) forum and as I sad a noob!
I´m sitting here middle in Africa and try to construct my tracking room by myself.
Since there is no civilisation i try to look for some substitutes to the stuff you guys normally use:

plasterboard = they here only have thing called CELOTEX .Look like a sort of gypsum blended with wood particel. Does it work?

accoustic sealant ??? haha: i can find silicon here will it work?

neopren ( they ask me "Mister, which country?") Is there something else I can use.

Biggest question. Since I have no problems with neighborhood do I really need floating floor. The room is build on desert sand and plastered with sort of rock pieces!!. Is it possible to build only additional walls to get rid of street noise (havy deep rumble)

Welcome; I saw your post at the RO site, where I'm one of the moderators also - this site has graphics capability without having to put pictures on another site and link to them, so it's easier to work with ideas - I'm near falling asleep, so this has to be short for now - first, do you have a way to order things from out of country? if so, you might be able to get acoustic sealant and EPDM rubber (lasts longer than neoprene) through the mail for fairly reasonable prices (not sure what your import duties are, though) -

IF you have low frequency rumble, that's exactly what requires a floated floor to keep it out - can you give an idea of what materials are available to you (what size/length of boards, any OTHER sheet goods besides celotex (not too good for sound isolation), what masonry products (concrete block, brick, stone, ???

Please study the "sticky" section, if you haven't already - I hope to be free to catch up on everyone's questions in a couple of days, it's been a pretty busy two weeks with little rest-

I was asking a lot. Here is what they have:
Bricks hollow, concrete , stones.
Plywood max 6mm. Other thickness is 4 and 2mm.
Seems that timber isnt a problem.
Plywood is in shhets 2.40m by 1.20.
I can order rigid fiberglass from SouthAfricas Owens&Corning manufacture.Thats a good news.
There is also something called in Africaans "spanplate"? No idea ?
In Germany they call it mayby Spannplatte.
I´ll keep seeking.
