Hi all, does anyone know if the plan for john's soffit has a box surrounding the speaker? or is it sat on a shelf?
The more ifo I receive the more confused!!!!!!
would this design work out well in a corner?
What is a good height for the center of the bass driver ?

It is a box surrounding the speaker.

Depending upon your orientation of the speaker a good height would be:

Horizontal or Vertical - measure up to your ear from the floor. That height should be the center of the Monitor cabinet in the respective orientation.

And this box should basically float within the soffit space and the monitor floats inside the box, correct?

If the box is floating, no need for the monitor to float as well, just make sure that the fit is good so you dont have vibration noise.
