Okay what do you think. My brother in law who is a music engineer said that we could probably just truck tires to float the CR. Basically building the CR on top of the tires.
So what you think ?

So you mean use the rubber of a truck tire instead of neoprene?
Seems it would be more work to cut that up instead of spending a few dollars to buy the right stuff.
But it is all on how you value your time.

would actually be using the entire tires laying down flat on the cement floor then building the floor ontop of it. Limited budget, so being creative for now. What you think?

Poor creativity, not a stable surface. if you want to float a floor better to just do it correctly then to cheat. I doubt that idea would be successful.

I heard about a guy who used tyres for a floating floor, and it apparently worked well.

I seriously doubt that it would pass code inspection. In fact, if found out, I would bet a case of beer

that the authorities would make you tear it all out. Although lots of people build home studios without permits, they are taking chances that could have serious consequenses should something happen. Loss of insurance is only one. Using materials or techniques that are not inspected and used without a permit is a gamble with safety, not to mention your pocketbook. Believe me, I've been through it. A 6 month stop work order, demolition, rebuild and fines are far more expensive than some neoprene and a permit.

Apparently, Mother Earth News has gotten into studio building
Seriously, this is NOT going to give you any predictable results other than disappointment... Steve
