Back wall absorption coverage question

The back wall of my studio is 10ft tall, from 3-7ft theres a 6inch deep frame covering 14ft from the left wall to the right (just above the couch). I was thinking of putting in 6inches of Safe n Sound covered by fabric in that whole space directly behind my listening position. Above it from 7ft-10ft would just be a flat wall. Is this a good idea?

I am not sure I follow your description. But the back wall is often extremely destructive acoustically and therefore one of the most effective places to treat.

Worth considering making the treatment much deeper at the corners. Say 2' square.
