In a room that I am going to use as a control room, Just behind where I will be sitting is small skylight. It would measure roughly 1.5ft wide x 1ft wide and about 4 to 5 inches deep. There also a number of these running the length of the tracking room.

My room measures 18ft long x 9.375 wide x 7.1 high, as you can see its very low! I am wondering if the skylight would make a effective bass trap if I stuffed it with insulation and covered it. It isnt a big cavity, but could it help with bass absorbtion at all? Thanx...

Not likely, for two reasons:

1. That's not much total surface area.

2. The best place for bass traps is in the corners.

If you stuff the cavity with fiberglass it will absorb something, but not enough to consider that as a total bass trap solution.
