Hello,

Does anyone have a STC rating of 8" hollow core concrete block that is filled with mortar? I did a search but after reading through about a dozen or so threads I thought I'd ask instead.

The SAE site had the following:

8" Concrete Block, hollow core, no wall finish 45
8" Concrete Block , hollow core, painted 2 coats, 2 sides 48

Thanks!

If the mortar is well rodded (solid) you're looking at about STC 60, with a low point @ 60 hZ of around 35 dB... Steve

There's a couple of pages of concrete wall constructions, with TL numbers from 63hz to 4khz, in "Noise Control In Buildings" by Cyril M. Harris.

Sorry, I am not at home to get the urls, however:

Canadian NRC reports BRN-217, IR-586, and IR-811 should have all the info you are looking for. Search here and you should get the urls no problem.

Have fun!
