Kind of a stupid question, but...

Would I be able to soffit mount two KRK V-88s for my mains? Meaning two on each side, stacked in the same soffit box? Reason I ask is I already have a set and am getting another set really cheap. Will I have phasing issues and such? I would really like to use them this way and realize there may be a problem, but, they'd mostly be used for just jamming stuff and the awe factor if you know what I mean.
As well, if this were to work, would i need to use a different tweeter or horn. Thats really the only drawback I could see, but then again, I need to ask the pros here. Any thoughts?
Thanks everybody,
M

I don't see why you couldn't do it - impedence load on your power amp would be another factor - I wonder what Thomas will say to this one
cheers

Directly in the middle of the speakers the response would be fine. Move an inch or two up or down, however, and you'll start to get severe comb filtering. If you do decide to do it, you should flip one speaker upside down so the tweeters are as close together as possible.

Hey Thomas and John. Thanks for the quick reply! If I do as you suggested Thomas, flipping one of the monitors over, those tweeters will be no more than 4 inches appart. Do you still see this as being a problem?
As well, could I do a mod to the tweeter or maybe install a new tweeter to offset this whole comb filtering thing? Any suggestions. You guys are great and I do really appreciate the help.
Oh yeah, and, John the impedance won't be an issue because they are powered speakers. Sorry I should've mentioned that.

By the way, is there a suggested method of "Y-ing" the signal from one line level +4 line to the two seperate inputs for the speakers. Didn't think of that.
Thanks again,
M
