My basement recording room is already framed, with a double wall all the way around. For the door, I was planning on using a solid exterior door with decent seals and a closer.

NOW I am wondering if using two doors would be worthwhile (one door in each wall, of course, with separate framing). There would only be room for about two inches of space between the doors. Would this be worthwhile? FYI, from everything I have read, my door is going to be the weak point as far as sound transmission to the rest of the house.

If I go with just one door, I assume it is a good idea to attach some material to the back of the door (?).

This fellow was content with his doors from a TL point of view, although frequently he only closes one set -- I don't recall which set. He's got both a sliding glass door and a pair of french doors in the same dooryway. Obviously they are close.

Can you attach a sketch of your wall construction around the door area, as close to scale as possible, including layer by layer description? Steve
