Hi all, Ive just built my vocal booth which is 1.6m x 2.4m x 3.6m high. Anyway i was thinking of putting an absorber/bass trap on the wall which is 1.6m so i can save a bit on the expensive foam.

Now im going to make the panel myself and i was looking at johns wall units and wondered,

1. If i put the wooden slats accross the absorber/bass trap would it increase the reverb in the room or would it not affect it? (im asking this as singers would be standing close to the trap.

Anyways guys hope you can help. thanks

Without getting into too much applied theory, the best bang for the money on the wall for you would be 4" (100 mm) thick (not critical) 3 - 4 lb/ft^3 insulation. You can cover it with fabic etc. Bob Golds absorption page

http://www.bobgolds.com/AbsorptionCoefficients.htm

Has suitable materials, links to companies, and from there you can get to suoplies in you area.

Have fun!
