I am bulding this design discussed earlier i studio design; http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3806

When I'm taking the "mirror test" i can see my monitors in a mirror at the front of the side walls/slot resonators. It happens in a area aprox 1x1 foot. Do i need to hang high frequenzy absorbers at these points?
Help apreeziated!

It wouldn't hurt; make them a bit larger than necessary, all that's needed is some 1" stuff in front of the slats. The slats will absorb the lower frequencies, so all you need is to get rid of the highs that will cause smearing... Steve

Thank you for replying. So i assume 1" fluffy rockwool wrapped in cloth, 2 x 2 feet will do the job?

I wouldn't use that light a stuff by itself, but in front of slat absorbers it should be fine since the slats will absorb the lower frequencies the thin stuff misses... Steve

Thanx. Thats what i thought. But now a second problem seems to accure.. :( My room is sounding dead in the higher frequency allready. and with a lot of energy in the low/mid frequency. I guess the low/mid is a result of the soffit, but i wonder if there is other things i can do to flatten out the freq responce.? Or more precise: get more highs. The responce in the room seem ok but with to much bass and to litle highs. Planning to get a SC2 Loudspeaker Controller. Have i done a huge mistake using 200mm kinda fluffy insulation on the false rear wall? should i have used rigid? Wont that reflect highs? (i have to admit that my slot absorbers are missing a few slats on top before finished, so that will do some work when finnished too)
Sorry for my nevrotic post but im just afraid of doing this the wrong way..

What are those gray "existing" walls made of, exactly? And what is across the front between the speakers - is that another slat resonator, or ??!? Steve

The walls are made of 16mm gypsum boards on both sides of a wooden 6inc frame filled with rockwool. The front wall have a window to the studio 1x2 meters with aprox 15 degrees from top to bottom. The front wall resonatror is not built yet. I will wait for measurement. The rest of the front wall is 10mm wood panels over the gypsum. The floor is 20 mm hardboard over sand with dense rockwoll leaning to the walls. The 50 mm acoustic rockwool in the roof is not finished. Can it be that the room is messing up because it is not finnished, and will be solved with finnishing the constructions??? Or should i wait with further building till i understand whats going on????
I really appreziate your help Steve. I will donate when im in a better situation!!

Picture of floor construction: Dont look at the conreet wall and floor. The drawning is from a future deam studio construction.... But replace the concreet wall with a layer of gypsum. (hope you understand my bad english..
