more info I dont know how "true"/"honest" this explanation is, but it "looks" allright to me
the goal of this thread is to list all common terms and abbreviations

TL=Transmission Loss=The accumulated decrease in acoustic intensity as an acoustic pressure wave propagates outwards from a source. So basically, the reduction in noise level resulting from passage through an obstruction.
Also, the RC in your picture looks more like hat channel, then the RC that's usually suggested here on this forum.

RC-1 is a single legged member -
RC-2 - which is indicated in the link - is a 2 legged product - capable of carrying a greater load.
Hat Channel does not have the little slots shown on the sides of the legs in this link. It's those slots that accomplish the decoupling effect with this material.

On the first link, I'd question the use of CLOSED cell foam - this will do nothing for mass, and make that much less air gap available for open-fibered insulation (which actually DOES improve TL a bit) - other than that, and not enough mass to help much in the lower leaf, looks OK... Steve
