This the product that is 24X24" press board that locks together, but has a hard vinyl underlay attached.

I used some in my iso booth and I'm planning on laying a layer of 1/2 fatigue mat (rubber) then a layer of 3/4" press board (tounge and groove) on top.

Room height is a major concern here so I'm trying to preserve as much as possible.

If this method is ok I'll use it on the rest of the project, I am looking into a vapor barrier and full sheets of pressboard to replace expensive drycore and have less joints.

Hi, and welcome; first, can you work on following this

a bit more? The link will explain why it's necessary, thanks...

I would be careful of using particle board at all in a studio; sealed up, all those formaldehyde fumes can make you sick - and the stuff can outgas for months, possibly years. There are non-formaldehyde versions, but not really common in most areas.

Specialty panels are almost ALWAYS 'way more expensive for sound control than just basic MASS, used in the right places - the link above will also guide you to a few discussions on that.

After you read through some of the material on the above link (and edit your profile to include a location) I'll be glad to try and answer any questions still not covered... Steve
