Hi, everybody!

I meet a friend in a spanish forum and he posts some pics of his studio construction, the company charges him about 11,500 $ for isolation, electric wiring, window, and door. I don't know that exactly but I try to ask my firend:

this is the first pics:

1.- The room

2.- floor:

A ply of "impactodan" (http://portal.danosa.com/danosa/CMSServ ... g=2&site=4) then a ply of 40 mm of 150 kg/m3 rockwool with plastic over and metal mesh with 50 mm of concrete.

3.- ceiling

first the drill some thread sticks to the concrete joists.

then the drill "silent-blocks" to this sticks and hang the steel ceiling studs:

then rockwool 40 kg/m3.Look at the "Impactodan" on the ceiling/wall joints.

Hi!
When I started the design of my studio I asked John Sayers about a brickwall between controll room and recording room.
This was his answer:

cheers

So, the brickwall with rockwool and sheetrock both sides are better than only rockwool/sheetrock on steel framing?

No, the brickwall is not necessary!
Overkill! A construction with sheetrock and rockwool is enough to seperate two rooms.
Look how they did it at Silva Productions:

I think this isolation is quite well for external sounds, but between control and recording rooms perhaps they must do 2 separated rooms instead of isolate the perimeter and then build a brick wall with rockwool sheetrock both sides pasted.
