Newbie needs help building basement studio from scratch

I am digging out a basement and adding foundation in my home. I will have about 300 square feet to use for a home studio. I am not knowledegable about construction and will be hiring contractors to build rooms in the basment.

I want to make a nice recording studio, but don't know where to begin. I can't spend a ton of money, but is there a way to get plans for a studio to give to the contractors when they build? I am leaning towards having one room for tracking and mixing.

Thanks for any help.

How about here... please...
I can't spend a ton of money . . .
A ton in hundreds? Singles? Dimes? "A ton of money" is too vague.

Do your contractors have any experience building studios? Do they understand what is involved?
