Help w/ studio design!

Hello guys,
I'll be building my new studio in the next 30/45 days and I need some help.
I'm thinking about 28x28x11.5 and the place needs to have:
live and control rooms, bath room, lobby and a vocal booth. If I could fit a small room to serve as a video editing suite, that would be nice.
I did this ugly scratch... but... nevermind... it's late and I'm tired...
Any suggestions are welcome.
By the way, any walls will be brick&cement walls...
thanks!!

Hi jeronimo - check out this thread - it's the same shape as your area

Ok John, that one is a little smaller. What kind of software do you use to draw those designs? Is it smartdraw? If you can send me the original smartdraw file... I can just push the dimensions a little to suit my needs

.
By the way, those two rooms left side and top, are those supposed to track drums? What do you suggest?

Hey John, I've just shown the design to the architect and I guess we will be doing it just like that... I'll keep everybody posted about that!! I guess it'll be a nice construction to show here at the forum!

We'll make a page for it at the Studios Under Construction site if you wish

cool - a couple of things - why not put in double sliding doors between the control room and the light brown room - just add another wall at 6 degrees to the existing doors. The new frame then becomes the second wall ...shit I'll draw it.

:)

I also did this one... but it doesn't have the vocal booth... that I need...
John, do you mind just taking a quick look on those sliding doors that are avaliable here in Brazil
http://www.tigre.com.br/htdocs/Consumid ... roduto.cfm. Those are PVC frames w/ double glass... I don't know how thick is the glass... but I guess it's quite thin... oh, and sorry but the site is in portuguese

Yes - that would work except I'd turn the control room around 180 degrees. I make the right wall fixed and angle the opposite wall by 12 degrees. You enter between the monitors like at Left Bank
http://johnlsayers.com/Pages/Left_Bank.htm which leaves the back wall clear for trapping.
As for your sliding doors I'm sorry I can't tell from the website - can't read portuguese either

:)
Make sure you look for these features
BTW - once again - how do you get gear into the studio??
cheers

Ok John, I'm just changing the CR position on the 2nd draw, and makind a third one, 9m x 6m, following the directions on Left Bank (kinda of)
I'll post them in a few...

More like this - you save the space on the right side.

Man, I must say your brain works different from ours

!!!!! That's a simple solution!! Thanks again!
Now, I just thought about using some other dimensions... check this out.
There is a nice lobby, bath room, nice CR w/ a vocal booth (notice the window that will show a nice view to the trees, and some neighbours

), a locker that can fit a guitar amp in and a nice drum room!!!
Again, the gear has to go thru the CR to get into the live/drum room...
And I'll use one of those split air conditioners to the CR and one to the live/drum room.
I feel like this is the better idea I had till now... what do you think?
