Plese can someone help me

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Plese can someone help me

Post by schwarzenegger »

Hi there, just started construction of my recording studio. Im building it in an existing wooden shed. I was just wondering if any one could give me some pointers for good sound isolation. i am thinking of using a mixture of fyber glass and polyurthane (excuse the spellings) for within the shed walls then using acoustics pannels for the inside. is this a good idea or is there a better way. plus is using an acoustic membrain on the floor a worthwhile investment. cheers

Hi, welcome to the site; a lot of your questions can be cleared up by following the guidelineshere

Please follow ALL the bold points, including editing your profile to include a location.

Once you've had a chance to read up on basic sound proofing (that link will take you there) we can help clarify any questions you still have, including things that would be specific to your project.

I'm not putting you off, that link just makes it easier for us to use the same terms, etc, and really does explain a lot... Steve
Soooo, when a Musician dies, do they hear the white noise at the end of the tunnel??!? Hmmmm...
