How good is Green Glue?

I've seen various reactions to this stuff from people who seem to know what they're talking about, saying that it ought to be really good, and that there are sound technical reasons why it should make a big difference.
But I've yet to see anything from anyone who has actually used it.
My inner, plasterboard walls will go up in a few weeks and I really need to decide whether to go with this. I'm tempted because I want to get the best soundproofing I can without excessive thickness of wall. I know the easy and cheap solution, a la Paul, is to just keep piling on more layers of plasterboard. But I don't want to lose another few inches of space all round the room.
If a layer of Green Glue between my plasterboard layers would have a similar effect to another few layers of plasterboard, or better, it would be worth doing for me. I looked at it a while ago and calculated it would cost me about £450 to cover the room, although that was based on the American prices on their site. I believe it's now being imported into the UK by RGB so I'll need to look into what they're charging.
At that kind of money it's doable, within my budget, but not something I'd be happy to just piss away. I'll want to know it's going to make a substantial difference since I could alternatively buy some serious gear for the studio with the same money.
Anyone used it?
