When building a sound proof room has anyone tried using "Roxul Insulation" on the ceiling?
If so, how has it work out for you?

I'll let you know in about a week. :) I finally start insulating the ceiling this week after 3 months of building up the mass between my ceiling joists and completeting the HVAC.

Roxul is a brand, so you'll need to be more specific with the exact type of insulation you plan to use. For example, there's Roxul Acoustical Fire Batt (AFB).

Also, for inside of walls/ceilings if you can't find the heavier stuff the normal, fluffy fiberglass insulation will come within 1 or 2 dB of the same performance; it's only in the room itself where the higher density stuff makes much difference... Steve
