hey all

this may sound kind of nuts. i don't have a studio but rather just a small bedroom setup where i do a lot of demos. the only problem so far is that i don't have a quiet, soundproof place to record my vocals. i do a lot at night and i have house mates that go to sleep way before i do. (i'm more creatively awake at night) so i've recently been interested in taking on a winter project. i would love to build an affordable vocal booth right down to the sound insulation. a more portable one (meaning i can take it out of my room in case of a move or whatnot) would probably suit me better. but still not jeporadizing quality.

can anyone help me out? i'm not top notch when it comes to construction but i have some friends who are willing to help out. i'm looking for a good step by step on how to build an affordable vocal booth. right down to what kind of stuff i would need and the dimensions preferably. can anyone suggest anything or point me to a good walkthrough? possibly give me some advice and options?

in the end i guess the ultimate goal would be to have an afforable vocal booth that can fit maybe 1-3 people that does a decent job of keeping the sound in (so i can track any time i want during the night) but still producing decent sounding vocals.

i would really appreciate some help. i will try to answer any questions that would help you help me. thanks all. ;)

Greetings and welcome to the site.

If you haven't done so yet, there's numerous threads on exactly this topic here. Do a quick search on "Iso Booth" or the like. There's some great detailed info here that may answer some questions, and as always, will leave you w/ more questions for your specific needs.
