Still unclear on corners absorbers

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Still unclear on corners absorbers

Post by pdlstl »

I inquired about this a few days ago but am still unclear.

Below is John's design for the corner absorbers.

Should the 703 be placed as in example "B". That is, with a space between the different layers of 703?

Or, as I've shown in example "A". Fill the cavity with 703?

Thanks,

Earl

Neither; here's an update I did a few months ago

General rule of thumb is, for a slat resonator you want roughly half the depth filled with insulation; for a corner trap, a single piece of 3" or 4" 3 PCF is fine. Place as shown/described in the above link... Steve
Soooo, when a Musician dies, do they hear the white noise at the end of the tunnel??!? Hmmmm...
