I'm building a house and dedicating a bedroom as a home recording studio. The room is 12 x 16 with a large closet 8 x 8.

I record acoustic/electric guitar, bass, drums - classic rock/blues. I have low watt guitar amps and don't play too loud. I'm looking for advice for
construction of the room:

- Walls (insulation?)
- Floors (wood, carpet, combination?)
- Smaller closet to increase room to 12 x 18 or
use closet for vocal mic or equipment room?
- Other advice?

Bill, welcome; since you're literally starting from scratch, you can do quite a bit to make sure your music stays in the room and the noise stays outside - first, though, you can get a good start by visiting here
