For all you veterans...
How much did you plan on spending? How much did you actually spend?
What was your final price per sq. ft?
That and any other hindsight greatly appreciated!

Greetings Chris,
Initially 3-4k. Two years later, I'm about 14k into it, and have about 14-17k to go for construction materials alone. Then it's time for the toys...

I'm not surprised; a friend of mine spent $30k on a couple 12'x12' rooms.
I'm hoping to keep it around $20k
Any good deals in Nashville to be had (materials)?

I'm double budget already and still have atl east another half that total to go.
It's all the bit's and peices that cost that you never factor in.
Scews, nails caulk, fabric, assorted peices of timber, assorted tools, hiring of tools etc. The list just goes on and on.

I have a two story converted garage studio. The first floor is the live room and vocal booth. It is fully soundproofed and lightly treated. It has a 9' ceiling. The second floor is the control room/lounge and is lightly soundproofed and heavily treated. It has an 8' 4" ceiling. The outer perimeter of the building is 26' X 18'. I planned on spending 4K in construction costs and got away with about 5K. That includes treatments. My walls have a noise reduction of about 60dB and my control room has a very nice frequency response. I was able to keep the costs low by performing almost all of the work myself.
