Putty pads can be chopped with knife?

actually i will use putty stuff for sealing hole or gap around wire or line
they say putty stick is for sealing hole or gap
but it is somewhat expensive than Putty pads
so could i chop putty pads with knife to be kinda Putty sticks?

Sure, no reason why not - the main thing is to seal those holes. If you're not concerned with fire rating, even acoustic caulk can work... Steve
