I want to control flutter and reflections in the control room

If i stack 4" of 703 on my side walls will that absorb any early reflections ?

I really don’t want to build angled slat wall........

Unless you guys really think it would be better than 4" of 703

PLEASE Help i am trying to do this today and i cant make up my mind :?

Steve,

Use a mirror ( a friend or wife or something similar will have to hep).

Sit in your chair and have the mirror slid along the wall - anywhere where you can see a speaker you need to place your 703.

This includes the ceiling (although I reccomend the entire ceiling be covered) and the back wall.

4" is great - even better if you can nmount it 4" off the wall (at least 2").

That will deal with flutter echo - comb filtering and issues with early reflections and stereo imaging.

Who else do you need?

Rod's been told by Steven Spielberg he's the best (just to hit the highlights) - but if it helps, that's the same advice you'd get from Eric Desart, Philip Newell, F. Alton Everest, Trevor Cox, Angelo Campanella, several others I'm too lazy to type, and me.

Only thing I'd add (although you didn't ask) is to also straddle as many corners (including wall-ceiling ones) as you can with MORE of the same, to help even out modal peaks/nulls... Steve

Thank you all !

 Sorry....

:D :D :D

Thanks guys, so much for all your help,

The false ceiling , rear wall are all filed with hangers and covered with 703,
3"thick... the rear wall trap is 24"to 3ft deep and filled with hangers and the ceiling is 3ft to 14" all filled with hangers.

if that doesn’t trap the bass nothing will

its good to know i wont have to do as much work on the side walls.

Thanks again,

steve

Sounds like you got it under control alright; have you fired up your speakers and listened to stuff yet? Should be pretty smooth...

And if anyone should apologise, it's ME  Was only being a bit "flip" 'cause I'm finally almost done messing with my hot water heater (yeay) Sorry if it didn't translate that way... Steve
