I am no good at picking colors for rooms.......
Please give me some input
I will use cloth and some wood
Room is aprox. 25x21x 12 tall with sloped ceiling
My front and back walls are light tan with light and dark wood, the floor is light oak parquet, the lower side walls are dark wood 4' tall .
I also was looking at some dark green for maybe a 4’ strip in the middle of the side walls
Then light tan then a black ceiling
The problem i am having is the ceiling....... I could go with black with light pine 4' trim every 4' or every 2ft running the length.
Then a light color the first 4’ below the ceiling
with some dark green for maybe a 4’ strip on the side walls
Or
Should i go with a light ceiling color ? and dark trim….. then i would have to change some of the wall color ...... or the whole room would be light tan
Help !
Man my brain is fried........

I have heard that dark/black ceilings are especially good for low ceilings as it offers an optical illusion of making the ceiling appear higher than it actually is.
I was in a restaurant recently with my wife that had a black ceiling. (Clarification: the
restaurant had a black ceiling,
not the wife.

) I told her, without so much as obviously looking up, "I plan to paint the ceilling in my studio black." She first looked at me with that "What? Are you
nuts" expression that she has mastered in nearly 12 years of being married to me... But then I pointed upwards, and said expression diminished. I told her the same thing about it making the room appear taller. She bought it.
I might change my mind -- I'm
very far from the point of painting my walls and ceiling -- something about
not having any walls or ceiling to paint
-- but for now, that's the plan.
Just remember... It's OK to take chances with paint colors, especially in relatively small spaces. If it looks awful,
you can always repaint, right?

P.S. In the spirit of full disclosure, this advice comes from a guy who has a
greyish pink kitchen, family room, and hallways; a
plum colored living room;
blue-grey bedrooms; and a
greyish green study for the wife -- all with light grey baseboards throughout the house... All of which
we think look very stylish and tend to get a lot of compliments, but are
not the "normal" earthtones common in houses! Take advice from me at your own risk!

Thanks for the reply Keith,
Unfortunately i wont be using paint, i will be using black cloth.
But with the light trim running lengthwise it should look cool , and the walls and floor are light color.
so i don’t know what else to do i dont know...............
im lost..... my brain is fried from hanging to much 703......
Nice Home, I like the colors ! Real clean to.......
Right now i have about a foot of sawdust mixed with drywall dust 703 shavings and fluffy ins. all mixed in...
Thanks again,
steve

Thanks Steve -- most of those were taken shortly after the "rebuild" following a deceptively severe plumbing-related ater intrusion last summer.
We lived in an "off white house" (interior-wise) for six years before we got this place, and we were itching to liven up our environment a bit with some color. Glad you like!
