Hi people!
You have excellent forum, here. A lot of nice info. I am really enjoying glancing through it. But, there is a slight problem. I am not into recording, but I am interested in acoustics to get as better as possible acoustics for may listening room. Do you know maybe, if there is some forum more suitable for me?

Recording studio control rooms are listening rooms. If you want to get into the deatials of control room design, aside from John's excellently written "Recording Manual" , read and absorb the Grammy 5.1 document. The references are great and lead back to stereo standards also.

Yes, there are a lot of similarities. But, it looks like ther are differences as well. But, ok, I can cope with it.
Of course, the difference is the placement of speakers and listening position. Living environment takes more care of free space. For example, the shape and dimensions of a mixing room acoustic threatment can be different than that of a living space. OTOH, there are solutions which could work very well in a listening room, which a mixing room designer doesn't even think of, simply because there is no need for him to think about those things. But, ok. You are so good here, that I have plenty of info which I can adjust to my needs, . -- Mario

The documents speciify acoustic parameters. Detail your aesthetic requirements and we will work with those also.

You have not indicated if your desire stereo or 5.1 sound. EBU 3276-E Supplement covers 5.1 and the base document covers stereo.

I am interested only in stereo acoustic. I am only in the planning phase. Maybe I'll even buy ETF software first, then do some planning, then I'll go to designing phase, and ask for help. -- Mario
