Mic Panels and configuration suggestions?

Hello,

We are building a commercial studio in Baltimore, MD. We're wondering about mic panels and wiring.

How many and what configurations, etc...

Our space is in a commercial row house. IE. Long and skinny.

Here is a picture:

So basically the first room (from left to right) will be a lounge. Perhaps double as an iso booth. The next room is the actual studio. The room on the right is the control room. And then a bathroom, but it's not actually in the drawing.

Here is what we were thinking:

Lounge: 12 input mic panel (parallel to 20-32)
Studio: 2x16 input mic panel (1-16 on one panel and 17-32 on another panel) - 4 TRS 1/4" sends for cue mix
Control Room: 4 input mic panel with 2 TRS 1/4" sends for cue mix (parallel to 16-19)
Bath room (next to control but not in picture): 4 input mic panel with 2 TRS 1/4" sends for cue mix (parallel to 12-15)

They will all terminate to a 32 channel XLR panel with 4 TRS 1/4" in the control room by the console.

Does this sound about right? Any suggestions about paralleling the lines? Does that make sense?

I am new to this and any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Mat

ps. does anyone have a recommendation for a contractor to install the wiring for this in Baltimore?

Depends on your needs, and what is your target audience. eg: typical band or a symphony.
Lounge: 12 input mic panel (parallel to 20-32)
Studio: 2x16 input mic panel (1-16 on one panel and 17-32 on another panel) - 4 TRS 1/4" sends for cue mix
Control Room: 4 input mic panel with 2 TRS 1/4" sends for cue mix (parallel to 16-19)
Bath room (next to control but not in picture): 4 input mic panel with 2 TRS 1/4" sends for cue mix (parallel to 12-15)
Here's a couple questions...

(1) What is your input availability for your console?
(2) What is your cue system going to be? Amplified signal, or something like the Furman or other system? What type of headphone boxes, etc.
(3) I wouldn't parallel. Bring them all up to a patch bay.
