Lighting and electrical circuits...

Hi there guys,
This thread, i hope will be a simple open and shut case!
Ok, after doing a lot of reading and searching on here i've gathered the following...
- Lighting & sockets should be on 2 seperate circuits.
- The studio should have it's own ground rod seperate from the rest of the house.
- The sockets should be grounded using the "star" method.
Are the above points/assumptions correct?
Now, onto some questions i have...
Has anyone here got a lighting system installed in the studio? I'm gonna get a Niko lighting control system installed in my labm it's a more flexible system that runs on low voltage circuits. If you have it installed, did you have any problems with it? When i say "lighting system" i mean one of those automated systems that have remote controls 2 change settings on the lights.
Sockets - Does each socket have 2 have its own switch in the fuse box or can i set them up in "rings" i.e.
-Studio rack ring, this is the ring of sockets that my rack gear will plug into.
-Studio speaker ring, this is the ring of sockets that my monitors will plug into.
I think thats all for now, i can't really think of anything else at the moment.
Any info would be appreciated.
Cheers.
Kang.
