Mineral wool Stinks....

I can't stand the smell of mineral wool in my control room plus other materials such as fiberglass and soft fiberboard. I was hoping the smell will dissipate with time but it's there. Also my control room is air tight when the door is closed which makes the smell worst. Is there something I can do to get rid of it.... HELP!!

Ventilate the room.
Keep the door open for a day or 2. All my smell has dissipated. it takes some time, just like a new paint smell in a new house takes minutei to dissipate.

Thanks for your idea but I don't think is going to help. The insulation has been placed in that room since 5 month ago...and I always kept the door open as well as my basement windows. The smell should have gone out by now but it is still there. I am not sure why it doesn't go away.

Wow. Not sure. Maybe they treated it with something extra. My CR has had the wool since august and I have no smell. Live room has been 2 weeks and no smell. Not sure what the deal is.

Mine stunk like dead fish or something at first. But has since disipated. Air it out, turn on a fan, run a dehumidifier???

what make of insulation did u use? i used rockwool, and although it stank pretty bad for the first week or so, the smell is gone now.
is it possible it got a little damp prior to construction? i'd try turning up the heat, opening the door and putting a fan in there to get the airchange rate up for a day or so.
hope you manage to sort it out

Well, in the summer it got pretty humid in my basement...no AC and the smell was really bad...so I think you are right the humidity kind of stayed in that room...since it doesn't have no windows. My other 2 rooms have the same material and they don't stink. I am going to try what you suggest.

is there still no HVAC in that room?
One big concern here is the potential for the production of mold..... and that is a perfect breeding ground for it.
Recent studies have suggested strongly that mold can be a severe - even deadly - health threat........ and i have been watching these studies with increasing faith in them.
If i were you i would consider a permanately installed dehumidifier - and some method of moving air in this space......... dry it out and then keep it that way...............
