703 for Slot Absorber.....how thick?

Hi,

I am about to (finally) start construction on some of john's slot absorber panels.

1-How thick does the 703 insulation need to be? Is 1" enough?? Can i use two (or more) sheets of 1" 703?? If so, how do i stick them together?

2-I noticed that on some of the studio pics (Blue Bear) the slats were all one width, and john's plans call for the slats to alternate between 2 inches, 3 inches, and 4 inches. Which is the correct way to build them??

thanks!

I'd stuff them with Mineral wool instead of 703 and use 3" or 4"

My Live room is filled with 3" in the slot absorber walls

hi,

we have left over rockwool, and i actually considered using it, but i was concerned about the rockwool breaking apart and getting in the air.

is there any specific kind of fabric i should use to cover the rockwool so it doesnt fly around?

thanks!

Yeah, any fabric is fine. Matter of fact a facing material is good. it's usually $1.00/yard at most fabric places.
