With everyone "going green"... manufacturers, consumers and contractors, what is to become of studio lighting?

The ceiling in the control room and iso booth are drop ceiling/tile. All the other rooms are hard ceilings.

I'm planning on a few recessed cans with fluorescent mogul bases for worklights in the control room. They will definitely look a LOT better than the typical long tubes, and they won't be nearly as apt to rattle.

I had originally thought about using some track lighting, but I now wonder about RF noise from metal halide bulbs and their transformers.

Does anyone have any experience with the new LED cans?

I know that some are dimmable and some are not. I just wonder about RF issues with the LED's.

I get this publication emailed to one of my addresses. I've found a broad array of info about how LED is being used from major city street lights to major industrial applications and ways we can have banks of LED lights at home with little draw on the expense...

but damn, the units are still so expensive. Hard for me to sink the funds into it at this point.
