Is My Room Too Small for Diffusion?

Post by ruanddu »

I have a 16x15ft room with 7foot ceilings that I use for music recording and rehearsal. I was wondering in your opinion if you feel diffusion is warranted in a room this size? If so, which type do you think is best? - wood block, random pattern, curved panel, angled panel, etc? Or, would I be better off just using absorption?

Thanks,
Josh

There is an announcement at the top of the forum about what to do to assure getting as many responses as possible.
The announcement leads to this post (click here). Actually, several people, who are experts on this forum, will most likely not reply if you don't do what is written in that post. Many others who are very helpful, will most likely not reply out of respect for the moderators' wishes.

I think, based on the options you suggest [wood block, random diffusion, curved panel, angled panel, etc.), you explain how either of these might fit into your room and explain to what extent how it might or might not be viable based on your understanding at this time.

I ask this because you mention options that most would say "it depends" but you have specific needs that you are trying to address and those needs, or wants, should be addressed first.

What does your room look like?
