Hello guys, i'm new in this forum, i'm so glad i found it, i'ts awesome! well my name is Jonathan, i've been recording for a couple of years, i just took a course of recording/mixing in Chicago so basically i'm NEW in this bussines, i wanna build a home studio (that's what i can afford for now) before play music and record bands i used to work in a construction company doing walls so i'm not gonna hire a contractor to do the job i'll do it with my dad's help (i'm gonna save a lot of money) but here are the details of the space i have...
Dimentions:
22'8" long
11'6" wide
8' height
Materias
I have 2 x 4 wood studs,
1/2" drywall
I'm planning to use 2 x 4 wood studs, sound attenuation insulation and 2 layers of sheetrock in each side of the wall.
Attached to this post is the idea of what i want, and here is where i need your help, i don't know if i'm using the space correctly, or if you guys have a better idea of how to organize this i would appreciate it. The only wall is up for now is the one in the middle. The rest of the walls is just a plan... the little isolated room in the left corner it's more like a guitar/bass amp booth, a dead room beside it and the live room outside. About the control room i know i'm wrong, i don't know why but doesn't seem to be ok.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and i hope to hear from you'll soon.
Jonathan

Re: My design :)
The corner of the room is worst possible place to have the listening position.
i would lose the drum room ( too small anyways), and make it all one room.
