distortion in my newly placed TR-8's

Post by figurehead »

just recently changed my room its 11 x 11 unfortunately with dead cieling at about 7' average (its angled) the way i am listening is sideways low end to left and high to the right.

my question is, could this setup be causing audible distortion, like the speakers are cracking

befor this repositioning i rarely had a problem with some dist. but now it is unbarable

also wondering if it may be my mackie board because the same sound is in the head phones

and wondering if it may possibly be the cd players eye being dusty

my overall experience with the tr-8 it is a good sound in the mid but the lows always seem to be distorting, even when the input sensitivity is at -5db, and when i first bought them i had to send them back because of a real bad low end dist in one speaker

if anyone else has event tr-8 please let me know what your experience has been, is it the speakers or just me?

my guess would be a bad cable or conection from the move. mackie 8-buss boards also have a well known internal ribbon cable problem. if the distortion is in your headphones and monitors, the monitors can't be the source of the distortion.
