Hey guys! First post ..
Been looking around this forum for advice on which 'wool' I should use in my home studio. A lot of people trying to find something comparable to OC703 which I understand.
Found a lot of helpful posts on the topic but some problems I've run into trying to make the right decision:
1: ROCKWOOL (ROCKTON) - The model numbers seem to differ here, for example where I only find 'Akustik WLG 035', and the website has no coefficient values. Bobgolds list doesn't contain this model numbers either. The Rockton comes in 6 different size panels from 50 - 150 mm.

2: ISOVER SSP2 - Seems like a popular choice but they have a black film across one side, does that mean I couldn't double up their thickest layer of 50mm two sheets thick to make 100mm? Or would I even need to? Does doubling thickness double coefficient values?

3: SUPERGLASS - Not much info but apparently as good if not better than the aforementioned options. Again no coefficients to be found.

Any advice on what I should go for in terms of something to construct first reflection absorber panels with? Also if this should be 40/50mm or if I should double that thickness as I see most Youtube demo's for example seem to use 3''+ thickness. As mentioned before, I am shopping for this in Germany!
Thanks a lot.

Thanks a lot John, having a look at that site but I can't seem to find the 48kg/m3 material you are speaking of. Could you point me to an exact product or model name if possible? There are 100's of different ones.John Sayers wrote:Try looking here

you are looking for insulation at 48kg/m3
Much appreciated.

Hello there, German fellow (supposedly Bavarian, when I look at the bausepp links)!
I recently got good deals on Rockwool Termarock 50, which is 50kg/square meter. This should be fine I suppose! If you still get the same deal, you are looking at substantial cost savings here! I got it from baustoffe Kraft in Munich.

5 mm? For a BROADBAND absorber? You are kidding right? That's meant to be a joke? Or maybe you just got the link wrong, and were meaning to post a link to something more suitable, like 50mm mineral wool, for example?Hey guys, I´ve worked with this one a while ago: ... and it´s working great in my case.
