Owens Corning 703

Post by Hovak »

Hi guys, I have a couple of things I was hoping to get some help with. I am moving into a new studio and it is not ideal, but it will be fine for now.

My room is very small. 116" by 140".

I want to just put some basic acoustic treatment. I do not have a big budget so no room for hiring any consultants or stuff like real traps.
So I am going the DIY route and wanted to build my own panels and traps using oc703, guilford of maine fr701 fabric, and just regualar wood frames.

then once I added it up, the 703 with the shipping got way too expensive.

So a few questions

1) Is there anywhere to get oc703 in the Los Angeles area? Shipping is a deal breaker for me.

2) If OC703 is out of the question, what is the next best alternative and it has to be something maybe more regularly available locally or somewhere like home depot so I don't have to pay a ton of money for shipping.

And also, how much of a difference is it from OC703?

oh ... this I did not know.

In my area, it was the only available choice. We got ours from an Insulation wholesaler [that also sells to the public]
