Where to place absorbers

Jim, could you please explain the different "squares" in your drawing?
The ones connecet with lines to the seat must be the speakers, but what are the other three little squares?

It's a top view of a custom desktop. The two squares on the outside beneath the custom countertop are equipment racks that also form a solid base for the countertop to rest upon. The counter itself is a double layer of MDF with a laminated top.

The center box can be another equipment rack or a space for a computer monitor. The back end of that square is where the first layer of 6-7 lb fiberglass (1" or 2") forming the base trap. Of course, there is an option of just leaving the center box closed as a fiberglass panel.

The face of the speakers are flush with the outside of the 2" fiberglass panel covered in fabric (gilford). So...there is an option of hiding the speakers behind an acoustically transparent speaker fabric (if there is such a thing).

I know of three rooms that have an adaption of this design...and it has worked well.

This picture shows a small midi room with this corner design. They used the center space for an Equipment rack and hid the speakers behind the fabric. They also had enough space for a small vocal booth behind the diffusor wall.
