Killatones with FX 120

Post by serge instrumental »

I've read the treads on building the Killatones.

John talks about two models:

The FE127E:CAN$69,70 each
The FX120(not found in the Solen catalog) so I guess thai it is the F120A at CAN$352,01 each, a HUGE difference in price!

Maybe I haven't found the right model

The price difference between the FE127 and FX120 is drastic, but it shouldn't be that much...

For the US, the prices I found were about $35 and $95, respectively.

Wow! Maybe there is an error un the Solen catalog.

Maybe not!

Anyway it should worth it to buy it in importation from US! because I would like to have this kind of reference with a higher power from the FE127.

I'm shure that you can beat more the FX120(with bigger magnet and an higher cone travel)

Madisound lists the following prices:

FE127E = $36.50 US
FX120 = $98.70 US

I'm thinking about building a set of Killatones, too. :D

No worries. I'm sorry I can't help you solve your more immediate problem, though.

This is not a big problem anyway :)

But I'm more on a budget. I can wait longer and get what I want. I've just to deal with my "impatience", that's all!

Thanks for your interest in this project.

By the way the photo in my first post should not be the higher priced speaker isn't? (F-120A versus FX-120)

I honestly couldn't tell you which one that is. I'm not too well-versed in speakers, which is why I try to find cookbook stuff like this. :mrgreen:
