Hugo, I've just bookmarked this site
http://www.spanishdict.com/
And you should save it too -
According to that site, cloth = tela
carpet = alfombra
If you use that free dictionary, it will help you learn more of the english words used here; you can even click on the little speaker icon next to the words, and hear the words spoken.
Carpet and cloth are both woven (tejer, I think) but normally carpet is thick (grueso, denso, espeso) while cloth is thin (escurrido) (Hey, this is kinda fun)
The link I gave seems to be kind of over-loaded; you might want to use this one instead, it is faster
http://www.freedict.com/onldict/spa.html
Some translations that might help when talking about bass traps -
insulation = aislamiento
density = densidad
corner = esquina
wall = pared, muro
floor = pavimento
ceiling = techo
plywood = contrachapado
caulk = calafatear
OK, I'll stop now - please save that last link, it will be useful many times as we work on your studio... Steve
