home studio 3m X 3.7m

Post by sidon »

Hi,

I want to build a studio in one of my rooms ,
My room is 3m X 3.7m .

and I have 2 windows one in the "north" wall and the other is in the "west" wall.
both are 1.28m X 1m and 1m above the flloor.
I use 2 nearfield monitors .

I would realy appreciate some advices about where to place absorvers ,
which kind of absorbers should I use , and how much .
also I would like to know what kind of carpet should I buy in order to minimize the bass going to my neighbours ( I am top floor ).

Thanks alot
Sidon

can you also give a drawing of your room and a description of what you want to do in it ;)

Hi I am from Israel

And I am building this studio for making mostly electronic music using My pc,
also I will do some recordings .

I am a specialy concern about the neighbours/spouse noise problem since I work at night .

I have attached my stuido scheme.

thanks,

Sid - carpet will not stop the noise getting to your neighbours downstairs.

the only way to stop it is to float a room within a room. i.e. build a new floor on your existing floor and build a new set of walls detatched from the original walls.

How much ceiling height do you have ?

Hi John ,

Thanks for answering.

My ceiling is 2.8m .

I know that the carpet will not stop the noise , I only want something to reduce it .

I will not build a floating room now because this is a renetd place , and I dont know how long will we stay here.

So I guess I want your advice of what best I can do in this room acoutic wise.

Regards,

Sid

Hi,

Some one here told me to put 17cm absorbers all around the room.

what do you think about this,

I actually would prefer the smaller ones so it will not take too much of my room size.

regards,
Sid
