How effective is the SelectSound Acoustic Board in relation to 703?
How is it to work with? How expensive is it?
OC tells me I can order it through Home Depot here.
Thanks,
Spike

The 1" products compared, 703 wins a bit at low frequencies; the 2" 703 vs. black stuff is nearly identical - keep in mind that these specs are 90 degree incidence, mounted against a wall; sound rarely hits walls at 90 degrees in real life, so ACTUAL performance might differ more, due to the black coating's possible effect on grazing incidence. It's always better to stand this stuff off a wall by a few inches for better LF performance.
However, I doubt if there are more than 2-3 HD's in the US that will even know what 703 is, so if your local one can get the black board for you at reasonable cost, I'd go for it.
