Has anyone tried this stuff - Quiet Rock

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

I've tried it. . .and it doesn't really work that well. It does reduce the mids and highs, but doesn't really do anything for low frequencies.

Your money would be better spent on decoupling the walls.

My sincerest apologies

Did a search - 13 pages of posts and all I was doing was providing a link...next time I'll be damned sure my topic is a lot more specific as to what it's about so as not to offend the vets here.

Sheesh!

I didn't mean to jump down your throat (and, honestly, I didn't think that I did)... But, at the risk of beating a dead horse, the search feature is mentioned in the "Please, PLEASE, THINK about reading this before you post -" Announcement.

Anyway, your sincere apology is accepted, and I offer mine in return if I made you feel anything other than welcome here. :)

I just tried the search feature, and I think I know what happened to you. Perhaps you searched for "quiet rock" and did not activate the "Search for all terms" option. That returned 13 pages of results containing either the word "quiet" or the word "rock" in the each thread.

Needless to say, there's a whole lot of "quiet" and a whole lot of "rock" in here. ;-)

On the other hand, I searched for "quietrock" (since the brand name of the product is QuietRock), and I received only 7 results, including the one that I linked to.

Hopefully this info helps you and others with the search feature. We're here to help.
